Meet Jo

Hi, I'm Jo, thanks for visiting my website, and I really hope you enjoy browsing through my work.

People often ask me where I trained, and the answer is not too conventional. I have a degree, not in art, but English and Drama from Hull University, and whilst I did a great deal of prancing about on a stage, I also kept one eye on set-design, set-painting and theatre publicity design. This led me after graduating to start up in business some 18 years ago making hand-painted screens and murals for children.

Since then I have mastered many complex paint effects and taken on countless projects, some tiny, some enormous (see scaffold picture!) working mainly in the North West and London.

I have worked for many years with interior designers Gail Marsden (www.gailmarsdendesign.co.uk) and Nigel Daly (www.nigeldalydesign.co.uk) and have had work appear in magazines such as Homes and Gardens, Ideal Home, and Country Living as well as television shows ‘This Morning’ and ‘House Style’.

I am a mother of three, and have recently been concentrating on home-based work such as canvases, toy chests and painted mural panels so I can juggle work and kids a bit more successfully.
